Katie’s Cryptograph, Rampage, is the result of 500 hours of work, carried out during Covid19 lockdown. Her Cryptograph is full of incredibly detailed drawings with images ranging from memento mori skulls to bees and butterflies and many other symbols of life and rebirth. Her Cryptograph is part of a larger series of works, known as her ‘Mad World’ series, which are all inspired by Picasso’s Guernica. However instead of a visual narrative about the act of war, Miss Brightside responds with a narrative about the internal wars that people wage with themselves. Her Cryptograph is helping to raise funds for the Los Angeles Mayor's Fund to help provide much needed assistance to those most affected by the current pandemic.

Katie Brightside is a British artist based in Hollywood. She is known for her fairytale-like drawings, which can be found everywhere from hotel murals to theatrical masks. Her intention is to bring aspects of 18th century French salons to the modern day, with a whimsical twist, and in this way her art is reminiscent of Pablo Bronstein. With almost 20 years of experience as an artist and designer, Katie is the creator of the Welcome to the Brightside Agency. The company works with a melting pot of creatives in all spectrums of the arts to deliver a variety of unique projects for a diverse clientele of collectors and patrons.
